AYA cancer patients Camille & Mia are here to talk about all things osteosarcoma & childhood cancer as a young adult.
Spilling the Tea, Definition: Sharing the Truth, the gossip, and the information.
Helllooooooo! My name is Camille Wahl and I'm 19 years old. I'm from Boston, MA and I am currently a freshman at Boston University studying Psychology and Theater. I was diagnosed with metastatic osteosarcoma in my right tibia and lungs at age 10 in January of 2013. Since my diagnosis, I've relapsed 6 times, and have grown up getting to know cancer up close and personal. In my spare time you can find me performing in musicals, taking voice lessons, running my Etsy shop, thrifting, and hanging out with friends.I decided to start osTEAo to get the conversations started for teen and AYA cancer patients about the stuff that there's not a simple google search for. I want to use my experience and knowledge that cancer has given me to do good in this world. I am so excited to get started and cannot wait to dive on in!
Hi everyone! I’m Mia, I’m 23, and live in LA with my mom and our three cats and two dogs. I was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in September 2018. I have a 15 inch internal prosthetic named Rodney (get it?) from my limb salvage in my right leg. I’m returning to UC Santa Barbara in the fall as a psych and brain sciences major! My ultimate career goal is to be a clinical psychologist working with adolescent and young adult cancer patients, but I’ve got a long way to go! Finding such a wonderful group of other osteowarriors has been a true gift and I can’t wait to share our crazy stories with all of you!
