Help save the Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge from industrial development
Great Salt Lake and its wetlands face catastrophic drying and ecosystem collapse, yet the Utah Inland Port Authority wants to provide tax subsidies enabling industrial development less than half a mile from the Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge and next to a designated Globally Important Bird Area. They also propose subsidizing an agricultural exporter in the Bear River basin that ships 140,000 tons of hay internationally (which consumes approximately 67.5 billion gallons of water). Join us to protect Great Salt Lake and the Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge. Let the Port Authority know you oppose this outrageous and harmful use of public money.
On Monday, August 21 at 2 pm - let the Port Authority know you don’t support their plans to incentivize industrial development next to the Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge.
