It’s time to modernize our energy infrastructure to meet the needs of our future. The #GeoGrid, a system of networked ground source #heatpumps, can bring us all cleaner air and affordable heating and cooling–without #fossilfuels. The idea for the GeoGrid first came to HEET Co-Executive Director Zeyneb Magavi when she learned that installing ground source heat pumps didn’t fit her budget. Along with a network of allies, she envisioned an affordable system run by utilities that could deliver heating and cooling to not just one home, but all the buildings in her neighborhood. Now, that dream is becoming a reality. Five GeoGrid demonstration projects by Eversource Gas and National Grid Gas are moving forward in Massachusetts and utilities across the country are looking into the feasibility of GeoGrids. Love this video!
Climate and Conservation
2yBrilliant climate and culture solutions! Instead of stranded and dangerous fossil fuel assets, geothermal (or earth-stored solar) energy can be transmitted as water rather than explosive natural gas in existing and new pipelines, benefitting communities, climate and utilities. Great news and details from Zeyneb Magavi and Audrey Schulman in recent conversation with david roberts https://www.volts.wtf/p/volts-podcast-audrey-schulman-and?s=r&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web
