Rev. Seth Wispelwey

Seth Wispelwey
Directing Minister

Seth is a grassroots organizer, educator, nonprofit consultant and pastor. In 2017, Seth guided RVA through strategic planning and expansion of its mission and vision. Through his direction, RVA grew to planning events, residencies, house concerts and more with artist and ministerial partners. That summer, building off of his experiences and using RVA’s resources, he co-created and helped lead Congregate C’ville to equip the response of people of faith and conscience in confronting white supremacy. Seth continues as a minister w/ RVA, immersed in advocacy, solidarity, and addressing pastoral needs and concerns wrought by the aftermath of the “Summer of Hate.”

Seth’s career includes years of public policy advocacy and mobilizing communities of faith and conscience with leading NGOs and human rights organizations. Seth is an ordained minister with the United Church of Christ, and holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia and a Master’s in Pastoral Ministry from Boston College. Any free time is preferred outside gardening.
